AccumulationGerman: Thesaurierung

Accumulation means a fund retains and reinvests income rather than distributing it to investors.

In plain language

Dividends or interest flow back into fund assets. You normally do not receive an additional cash payment. The value of your shares reflects retained income. Tax rules differ by country.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

Let’s make it concrete

A fund receives €100 in dividends. In an accumulating share class, the money stays in the fund and is reinvested according to its strategy.

Simplified example for illustration.

Worth understanding

Accumulation does not automatically mean tax exemption. Retained income may still have tax consequences.
